AAA Western and Central New York is pleased to announce an expansion of its insurance division, AAA Members Insurance Agency of Western & Central New York, Inc. On August 18, AAA acquired Affordable McLaughlin Kehoe Insurance Agency, which will become “AMK Insurance Agency” [1] (a division of AAA Western and Central New York). AMK has two offices in Central New York at 1616 State St. in Watertown and at 225 W. Manlius St. in East Syracuse.

AMK Insurance Agency has deep roots in the CNY community. It began as the John B. McLaughlin Agency in East Syracuse in 1929. In 1984, the agency was purchased by Myron C. Kehoe, Sr. In 1996, the Watertown office opened. Agency ownership shifted to Jeffrey Kehoe, Myron Kehoe, Jr. & Shawn Kehoe in 2015. Shawn Kehoe and his team of ten employees (six in Syracuse and four in Watertown) will be joining AAA. No jobs are being eliminated as part of this transition, and the same people that customers have worked with over the years will continue to serve them and support the area’s insurance needs.

“The Kehoes’ strong history in the region, paired with AAA’s resources, ensures that clients will receive expanded services and enhanced customer support while working with professionals they already know and trust,” said Chris Lawrence, Director of Insurance at AAA Western and Central New York. “We’re excited to welcome the AMK team to AAA Western and Central New York.”

AAA Members Insurance Agency has been a trusted provider of personal and commercial insurance solutions since 2006 with a focus on exceptional customer service and comprehensive coverage options with a dedication to meeting the diverse needs of individuals, families, and businesses. The strategic acquisition enhances AAA Insurance's portfolio and underscores AAA Insurance's commitment to expanding its service offerings and delivering comprehensive insurance solutions.

“Clients of both AAA Insurance and AMK Insurance Agency can expect a seamless transition with uninterrupted service and continued access to the exceptional coverage and support they have come to rely on,” said Marke Dickinson, AAA WCNY President and CEO. “This acquisition reaffirms AAA’s dedication to protecting what matters most to our customers, now with expanded services across the region and a suite of products designed to meet the evolving needs of individuals and businesses.”

Current policies and agents will not change amid this transition. If customers have any questions, they can call the AMK Insurance Agency offices at (315) 437-2821 in Syracuse or (315) 782-4300 in Watertown or visit AAA.com.
