AAA Western and Central New York is proud to announce that its Safety Department has been awarded the Affinity Captive Bronze Risk Control Award, placing the team in the top three percent of all participating members for risk management excellence.

Affinity Insurance annually recognizes members that are successful in managing losses, actively participating in risk control events, and demonstrating a commitment to safety throughout their organization.

This marks the first time AAA Western and Central New York has received this prestigious honor, recognizing the department’s exceptional performance in two of the most critical benchmarks: Risk Control Assessment and Loss Fund Loss Ratio.

“This recognition is a direct result of our team’s unwavering commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement,” said Brent Dahlhaus, Director of Property Management and Safety at AAA Western and Central New York. “We are honored to be acknowledged by the Affinity Insurance Captive and proud of the measurable impact our Safety Department has made. Safety is the cornerstone of AAA’s mission. By embedding it into every aspect of our workplace culture, we strengthen our ability to respond swiftly and reliably when our members need us most.”

The Bronze Award is based on a comprehensive scoring system, and AAA Western and Central New York’s Safety Department excelled in the following areas:

•    Risk Control Assessment (RCA): With a maximum of 300 points available, AAA Western and Central New York achieved a top-tier RCA score, reflecting the Safety Department’s proactive and systematic approach to identifying and mitigating risks across its operations.

 •    Loss Fund Loss Ratio (LFLR): This benchmark evaluates a three-year weighted average of the department’s loss ratio performance. AAA Western and Central New York’s Safety team demonstrated exceptional control over claims and losses, with top performers achieving a ratio that reflects strong financial stewardship and effective risk mitigation.

“It is also important to acknowledge the exceptional contributions of our emergency roadside assistance management team,” added Dahlhaus. “Their dedication to rigorous training and the implementation of effective management practices has been instrumental in reducing risk and elevating safety standards throughout our operations. Their commitment to continuous improvement and proactive risk management has set a benchmark for excellence and played a key role in our organization’s recognition for safety.”

The award highlights AAA Western and Central New York’s leadership in risk management and its dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for members, employees, and the communities it serves.
