Is this THE YEAR?

Every NFL season starts with the same question for Buffalo Bills fans.

Is a Super Bowl victory in their future?

Without the benefit of a crystal ball, no one knows for sure. However, with Josh Allen under center, hope springs eternal – especially as summer fades to fall.

But even if you had a crystal ball, would you really want to know the answer ahead of time?

Part of what makes the season so captivating is not knowing how it will end. The twists and turns, heartbreak and euphoria are what football fans secretly crave. It’s a journey into the unknown where faith and hope intersect.

To that end, the winding road – as always – will include memorable tailgates and chants of “Let’s Go Buffalo” in Orchard Park. The home schedule started with an epic comeback win against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football. It also features the usual divisional matchups, and visits from the Chiefs, Bengals, and reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles.

But that’s only half the story. The other half calls us away from the comforts of home to cheer, explore, and create memories in faraway - and some not so faraway - places.

Here are the road games for the Bills this season:

  • New York Jets – Sunday, September 14
  • Atlanta Falcons – Monday, October 13
  • Carolina Panthers – Sunday, October 26
  • Miami Dolphins – Sunday, November 9
  • Houston Texans – Thursday, November 20
  • Pittsburgh Steelers – Sunday, November 30
  • New England Patriots – Sunday, December 14
  • Cleveland Browns – Sunday, December 21

If home is where the heart is, the road is for adventure. It’s the chance to root for your hometown team in a favorite city or a place you’ve always wanted to go but never figured out how to get there – until now!

Bright lights, big city

The great thing about a road game against the Jets is that you can decide to go at the last minute. It may cost a little extra, but it’s a short flight or reasonable ride. The game is technically in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium, but it rests in the shadows of New York City’s world-famous skyscrapers. Take a ride to the top of the Empire State Building, see a Broadway show, or visit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. Plan a stop at Penn 6 to meet up with fellow Bills Backers. With dozens of AAA Four Diamond Hotels and Restaurants, the Big Apple’s hospitality and entertainment options are nearly limitless.

MNF in the ATL

If you’ve never been to Atlanta, this may be the perfect time to visit. The Bills face the Falcons on Monday Night Football, part of a long holiday weekend in October. Take Saturday and Sunday to explore this great southern city. Popular spots include the Georgia Aquarium (largest in the U.S.), the World of Coca-Cola, and Centennial Olympic Park. There are 18 AAA Four Diamond Hotels and eight AAA Four Diamond Restaurants in Atlanta. Bills Backers can often be found at Anchor Bar, Whitehall Tavern, or Tavern at Medlock.

Carolina on my mind

Imagine a warm fall weekend in North Carolina as the Bills meet the Panthers in Charlotte. Get a AAA TripTik and take an extra day or two to enjoy a road trip filled with colorful foliage. Mix in a tour of NASCAR’s Charlotte Motor Speedway or thrills at Carowinds – the Carolinas’ premier amusement park destination. Spend a day at the U.S. National Whitewater Center or relax on the placid waters of Lake Norman. Choose from one of 11 AAA Four Diamond Hotels in Charlotte, including the recently added Canopy by Hilton SouthPark. Save your appetite for a visit to Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill or Tavern on the Tracks – two popular spots where Bills fans often gather.

Squish the fish

Just as things start to really cool down, board an early November flight to Miami to soak up the sun and see the Bills take on the Dolphins. Stroll South Beach, savor local cuisine in Little Havana, or escape to the Everglades with an airboat tour. Meet up with fellow Bills Backers at The Brightside in Miami or join the Bills Mafia at the Elbo Room in nearby Fort Lauderdale. Want to be pampered? Enjoy luxury accommodations at AAA’s newest Four Diamond Hotel – Andaz Miami Beach. Dine at Stubborn Seed, added to the AAA Four Diamond Restaurant roster in 2024. And don’t worry, you won’t be alone when you show up at Hard Rock Stadium to tailgate - the annual trip to Miami is a favorite for Bills fans.

Houston – We have a road trip

The Bills will return to Texas for the second time in as many seasons in mid-November. It’s a Thursday night game against the Texans, so you’ll want to schedule a few days around this one. While you’re there, blast off to the Space Center Houston or check out any of the 19 different museums in the Houston Museum District. Hungry? Houston is known for its diverse culinary scene, offering everything from Tex-Mex to BBQ and international cuisine. There are also six AAA Four Diamond Restaurants in the city – including Mussafer which was added earlier this year. Savor the AAA Four Diamond Hotel experience with a stay at the Blossom Hotel Houston, the newest of 25 Four Diamond Hotel options in H-town. Want more? Consider a full vacation with a cruise out of nearby Galveston as part of a larger vacation getaway.

Steel City showdown

Two proud fan bases will collide when Bills fans take their road trips to Pittsburgh for a showdown with the Steelers at the end of November. Pack some Thanksgiving leftovers for the ride! Meet up with fellow Bills fans at Mario’s South Side Saloon. AAA Four Diamond restaurants include Altius and ELEVEN. In addition, there are five AAA Four Diamond Hotels to choose from in Pittsburgh including The Inn on Negley which was added to the list in 2023.

Weekend in New England

Not just a Barry Manilow classic, it’s your ticket to another divisional showdown in mid-December. Couple a game against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium with visits to Boston, Cape Cod, Providence, or even Newport, Rhode Island. There are dozens of AAA Four Diamond Restaurants and Hotels across these locations. On game day, Patriot Place – with shopping and restaurants - offers an additional option for tailgaters.

Cleveland at Christmastime

The holiday season will be in full swing when the Bills face the Browns in Cleveland on December 21. Why not unwrap an early gift with tickets to the big game? It’s the shortest possible road trip – about 25 miles closer that Pittsburgh! While in Cleveland, enjoy the AAA Four Diamond Hotel experience at the InterContinental Cleveland, Metropolitan at the 9, Autograph Collection, or Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland. Stop in at Third Place Sports Bar to meet up with fellow Bills Backers. And if you love rock music, make sure to plan a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

The destinations are known. The journey, however, is what you choose to make it. The road is where the football fanatic and tourist become one, seizing the opportunity to check experiences off a bucket list while joining the phenomenon known as the Bills Mafia – an undeniable force unleashed upon the NFL.

If this season is to be historic, the Bills will need to be successful at home and on the road. Wherever you choose to go – leave room in your dreams for the ultimate road trip (or cross-country flight) – to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 8, 2026.

Why there?

If this is to be THE YEAR, that’s where the longstanding question for Bills fans will finally be answered with a victory in the Super Bowl.
